Mon nite 10:15 PM My Dearest:- How do you like my stationary and pencil? I couldn't find any stationary and am too sleepy to write with ink. I finally got little Cliffie to sleep, but don't know how long it will last. Poor little thing. He is so miserable. He [grunted?] twice today and that makes him feel better. The gauze is just about ready to drop off tonight. I have an idea by tomorrow it will be off. I hope so. Don't think it will itch nearly so much then. Honey you don't know how much I enjoyed having you home even if it was hectic. Your the swellest daddy in the world and I aint kiddin. I do miss you so much though. I know I acted like a big baby last nite and this morning, but just couldn't keep from it. Guess if I didn't cry it would show I didn't think much of you though. I just live from the time you are home until the next time I will get to see you. I hope it won't be too long. Van called this morning. Mrs. [Sherry?] passed away last night. He wanted us to know he said. Guess he thought you would still be here and you would talk to him, for Ruth said they called the house first. I told him we wanted to get some flowers and he said he would take care of it and put Herb's and our names both on them. I told him we would pay him later, I called Dorothy and told her about it. Said they got home about 12:15 last nite. I talked to your mother too and she said she was just
