My dearest (Burlington [illegible] June 5, 1942; 9:30pm): I just got home, and when I got here I found your letter waiting for me, sent special. It was sure a lifesaver as I was feeling kind of glum. I had a terrible day again. Well there is only one more left. I plan to quit by three or [illegible] tomorrow afternoon. I have two [illegible; payments?] to do in the morning. Honey I have [$]100.00 in my pocket book now, and a [$]42.00 check. I have to pay [illegible] $15.00 & i guess that is all. I am going to get $75.00 or [$]100.00 travelers checks and carry some cash. I won't need [illegible] [illegible] checks, so I will bring them backwith me. I had the car all washed & [illegible] [illegible], so it is ready to go. I have about [$]5.00 [illegible] on it yet before I have to change oil again. I am so sorry I didn't get another tire. I called [illegible] [illegible] twice & he said he would get me one if he possible could but so far, no luck. I am afraid to start out without it but guess I will have to. Honey I will call you at 8:30 on Monday nite & also Tuesday nite. Then you will know where I am. Oh [daddy?] I just can't wait until we get there. It seemed like ages since we have been together. Ruth is going to stay in the house at night. I guess [Hattie?] is going to
