Burlington, Ia May 31, 1942 Sun nite 9:30 My Dearest:- Well this is the best day of May. The time is going by pretty fast now. I wonder where I will be sleeping this time next week? I plan to go about 300 miles a day. We went to state park on a picnic tonight. The [Hamff's?] stopped for us. We were all alone out there and the kids really had a swell time. Bobbie pushed Carol down though and hurt her arm and she is still complaining about it. I thought at first, she had broken it. He is a little dickens. Daddy, in one of your letters you sent a gasoline stationary card, or copy of it. Did you want me to bring that along? or what? You didn't say anything about it. I will look it up. It is among your letters. I guess, I will put your letters on that other little steel file and hide it. I have some good news for you. We rented the sleeping room, to two [ploiterer's] that work in the housing project. They are from Omaha. Ruth just got inside the house tonight, and they called and said they were coming out to look at it. They seem like real nice fellows she said. They will be working just days, thank goodness. That will help and a big relief and
