Burlington, IA May 26, 1942 Tues. 11pm My Dearest: - It is rather late to be starting a letter, but I didn't get home until 10:30. I had to work real late. I had a very busy day. Gave four permanents and a hair dye, and finished about ten o'clock and then after that I had to do some ordering from about four places. So you can see why I am so late. I gave Mrs. Lowen a permanent today. She is certainly a nice old lady. [illegible] y how to come to me. I didn't receive any letter from you today so am looking forward to getting one in the morning. I'll bet you are real busy now, I helped the kids write those letters to you this morning. Carol made it all up herself what she wanted to say & Cliffie did that printing all by himself. Isn't that pretty good? John R said he would write later. He was too busy getting ready to go to school this morning. Had the add in about the room today, but no luck so [illegible] was one phone call, but didn't come out. Hope we can soon get [illegible] rented. Had a swell rain last nite again. We haven't had to water the grass yet. Isn't that lucky? It looks swell. I have to go to work at seven o'clock in the morning. I am giving Adelaide Fritz a permanent. She is getting married real soon I hear. She is going with some
