the 9:30 bus. I took him down. We had a very nice dinner, only I ate too much as usual. Frank was there all day too. He graduates next Thursday from [Parsons?]. I guess [Kris?] is to be married real soon and Frank is to be best man. Ruthie went with us today and as usual ate too much + got sick as a [horse?] on the way home + has been throwing up since. It is just pouring down rain again + the wind is blowing too. It has been a very gloomy day, looked like rain any minute all day long. We have surely been having the rain haven't we? [Name?] wasn't at all well, he had just gotten out of the hospital Wed. + then came down here [Sunday?]. He had lost about ten lbs. He had operation for [hernias?]. He is going to enlist in the navy I guess. He is going to Omaha to ask about it this week. He will have to go anyway before long + if he enlists, he will get a Lt. Commander job, which pays 400 a mo I guess. It is the same rank as Major in the army. Marjorie is all excited about it, and [illegible] to more wherever he is sent. They would rent their house. Their kids are browning fast + are very nice kiddies. They They brought Carol three more little dresses. It sure helps out. Your mother isn't so good. Working too hard. Kind of down in the back. She went with [illegible] the [illegible] to put out flowers. Looked very nice. Kids are all O.K. but pretty tired out tonite. Must get to bed
