Burlington, Ia: May 12, 1942 11 P.M. My Dearest:- Just got home from work a few minutes ago. I have had a very busy day today. Same three permanents besides the other work I did so you ma know I am plenty tired tonight. I have to go down early for Miss Head in the morning too. No letter from you today and suppose I will get two tomorrow. Did you go to Harrisburg to the [illegible]? You said you might go. Did you have a good time? How far is Harrisburg from Carlisle Barracks? I called Ben Shye today and asked him about the car. He is going to check it over + see what it needs and get it all tuned up ready to go, just in case we can get to come. I won't have him do anymore than is necessary. You should see how the new grass is growing. It looked just fine, and looks like a good stand up grass. They predict rain again for tonight. It has surely been warm here today. The kids are just fine and are all counting the days until we will be going to see daddy, or are we?
