Monday. Jan. 13. 1919 3 p.m. My dearest Walter - You can't guess what picture of you I have propped up here on the table before me? Its a group of eight M.D's in Red Cross Hospital No. 5. Crow is beside you but I wouldn't know him with the mustache - It was taken by E. W. Dickerson a War Correspondent in France and Lois cut it from the Sunday Des Moines Register and sent it to me. I like your trench cap. Bring it home so I can wear it. The paper called you Capt. W. H. Fop of Waukon. I wrote and told them to correct it as once as it made me sore. They gave the french a great puff.
