Oct 28th- Mildred, Miss Root and I waked the long way to [Magne Can today. Had a bad headache which I thought I could walk off but was unsuccessful and by night I was out-remained in bed until Nov 3rd - Oh! Death where is thy sting". Every one certainly was good to me but it does seem disgraceful to get sick over here. Nov 5th - To Never again with Margaret B. Nov 10th- Mrs V. & Miss Hayes went to N. today Train came - isolated Miss Rusk- 3 sick nurses- such a day- We have been particularly fortunate - as all the other units have lost nurses - 68 - 8 - 35 - 3 48-3 Guess our early arrival helped. Nov 11th - Have had a hot tub - Chicago papers please copy Nov 11th - Armistice signed today - Went to Nevers with Miss Evans - great excitement - streets all decorated with flags and flowers - Every one in best clothes. Streets crowded - People yelling with joy. We stayed until 5.30 - One could not help but feel sad at all the women in mourning - I wonder what "peace" brings to them. 2 truck loads of nurses went to Nevers this eve and Miss Murphy and I stayed home to serve coffee at 11:30 when they came back. I wish I could say more but even after so short a time in this stricken country my enthusiasm ebbs and it is hard to believe that this day has come - Perhaps it will be as it was coming over - We never quite grasped it. Many rumors but I hope we can stay here a little longer. Here I want to set down some things told to me - Viz That I am to take a trip by land which I do not particularly wish but which I will be like later - That I am going to Austria Hungary Tyrol
