to enjoy it immensely. Went to bed early. Dec 25th - Christmas Day - and one never to be forgotten. I had breakfast in Wd 20 with Ruth Marlin. Had a very nice breakfast and went to 10AM service which was held in the receiving ward. The decorations there and in the wards were very pretty my evergreen and mistletoe. Had all the officers over for dinner and I served potatoes. In the PM Mildred - Miss Vining and I took our things down to the Etiemines who really were not my Etiemines but poverty sticken. We had a heavy snow storm but the snow melted immediately. In the eve I took a bath and went to our Christmas party in my pajamas. We were all given socks by the Red Cross. Dec 26th - Our Etiemines came today and we gave them our socks. Dec 27th - Miss Hayes on leave today. Dec 31st - Miss Root and I were on until 12:30 as night shift Jan 1st - Was hostess this P.M. - Mrs. V. went to [Vennemil?) Really had a very pleasant P.M. Jan 2nd - Had Madame Robert and daughter for tea this P.M. They are most charming. I regret to mention that they are the family who live at the Chateau du Fasche - near here, and that we had tea with them one P.M. They have a charming home and two cunning children. Jan 3rd - Mrs. V. had most of today off. Nurses had pictures taken - stove put in our room.
