May 5th - 1918 Camp Bowie Base Hosp Dear Bess, I recieved the books all right were you able to find the first two volumns? I am getting some smaller ones from New Orleans that are printed in English. We have been having fine weather here. Had a little rain last night but it cleared up again and the day has been pleasant. I worked until about two oc and then came up to my room and read & slept. I also ate some of the candy. It was very good and reminded me of about the same things at home. I am on for surgical call from 4 P.M. to 8 a.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays. That is for all
