August 15, 1918 My Dearest Bess: I just returned from a little entertainment down on the grounds. They had a few short boxing bouts and some singing by the boys. Their voices were not so very good but on the whole I think it was the most wholesome entertainment I have seen since I have been in the army. The C.O. here referreed the bouts and every body seemed to enjoy themselves in a good way. I was assigned to do some throat work. They do tonsils differently here from what I have been accustomed to I like the system pretty well. The officers here are very nice to us fellows: they rarely go down
