August 16, 1918 My Dearest Bess: I have just came in from a long walk and will have taken my evening shower and will now finish my day by writing to the best girl in the whole world. 5 of us started out to walk over to the post both old and new and it must have been about 5 - 6 miles altogether This has been a very old post having a record back to 1860 or 70.
