[August 17, 1918] My Dearest Bess Well another day is about at an end and I am sitting out on the porch in front of the barracks with the journal for a table to write on. I took out tonsils today again doing the work under local anesthesia. It works pretty well. I really believe I will be converted to it for adults. I like this method very well at any rate. I haven't any mail for several days in fact since I came up here. I don't know whether it is because of my change in address or because I didn't get any. We went down today and drew our equipment consistring of a tent
