Aug. 22nd 1918. My Dearest Bess: I had to hurry this morning and get down town to help operate on an officers wife so I was unable to mail you a letter so there will be one missing from this steady fire of writings. I hope you will often write several times a day as I like nothing better than to hear from you. It is not letters in general that I care about as I havent changed in that respect. but just yours. Wasn't there a story about falling in love
