Aug 24 - 1918. My Dearest Bess: I received your letter yesterday and was glad you liked the ring. You can have the stone put in old setting if you wish. I think the stone is a good one. I had looked some over at Dallas but this one suited me better as it was of much better quality than some of the ones I saw. It is not so large as some that I saw but it is of quality and in as much as that is my idea of the person to whom I wished to give it I don't think I would have been satisfied to like any other one. It has the pep all right
