March.6.1942 Dear Dad + Mother: I got your nice long letter today, I was surely glad to hear from you. I saw Ronald Hermig and went out to his house one night before I left Des Moines and met his wife she is a very pretty girl and seemed rather nice. I don't have very good luck at getting clothes they can't seem to fit me. I some ways it's all right I don't have to wear leggins [?] and everyone else does, they are hot and uncomfortable. I still don't have a blouse but that's all right too. Tomorrow morning we take math tests mechanical movement tests etc. I've had I.Q. tests etc. at Des Moines. What will they do with a farmer in the Air Corps? I had an innoculation for Yellow Fever + another for Typhoid today my arm is pretty sore tonight. The Tetanus shot I had at Des Moines + others didn't bother me at all. At Des Moines I ran into a fellow who knew Uncle Raymond he was from Sac City. We have attended lots of lectures on varied subjects Military Courtesy, Identifying aircraft etc. Most all of these are run on the screen with talking pictures but we have attended many others where an officer
