Im glad my [brooder?] house is done, Mrs. Hay said it is already painted. Hope the chickens do well and pay for it soon. I just got my money $22.21 after deductions were out for insurance, dry cleaning, Red Cross, Recreation etc. I lost several days in Des Moines as I wasnt sworn in right away. Got the cookies, they came thru in good shape. Fresh as daisies and they surely are tasty as [Rommy?] would say. You haven't forgotten how to bake mom. Got a letter from Aunt Jennie yesterday I had already written her a couple of days before. Got two letters from you yesterday. Very newsy too. When you folks see Lloyd be sure he is paid my share for the Harnkey corn warehouse. I expect it's about all out by now hope everyone paid. Has Westcott ever come in? I am really enjoying my work down here sometimes I think I'll never see the light but everything seems to work out okay if a fellow is patient. Did you see the Life a week or so ago where it showed the crew for a big airship. Maybe some day I can be a crew chief it's a long way off tho and maybe impossible but there's a chance. I've got to get my studies day by day & will see what happens.
