...is shining and there is a nice cool breeze blowing. They got us up early this morning and we had to get our barracks ready for an inspection. The last bunch had left it awfully dirty but it looks fine now and will pass inspection okay. I have to wash some clothes this afternoon. I guess, it takes to long send them to Salt Lake and I've about everything dirty perhaps I can hire a fellow with an iron to press them for me. I didn’t know grandma had lost her little Peggy it is such a shame the little dog was so much company for her and they thought so much of each other. I have heard from some of the fellows in our graduating class at Shep. Feild. Some are in California and others in Walla Walla, Wash. I am surprised to hear of Chuck [Curtis?] leaving W.U is it a permanent move or just temporary. Theres just nothing more to write about I’ve racked my brains for ten minutes and can think of nothing. Thanks again for the birthday present, the nice letter should have been plenty but I do appreciate it. Side note Can’t say as I feel a day older let alone a year. I believe I'm good for many more. All my love, Johnny
