Reserved by Samuel Hromatka Aug 3, 1942 Wendover, Utah Dear Dad + Mom: It's been another warm day with little daring. I've been on detail work, keeping a fire in the hot water boiler for showers it wasn't hard work at all just had to be at hand all day. At least I didn't have to march + drill. We are having a big squadron soft ball game tonite but I dont believe Ill go. Got a card from the [Murries?] a cute scatch one and a picture of Dad + Florence. Card + letter from Grandma and a nice letter from Mrs. Lynch so my birthday was well remembered. Poor Grandma was feeling so blue they had a bad hail which just stripped their car which had looked so fine and it was so wet they couldn't thresh. We have quite a nice day room here but it is always filled to overflowing because there is no place for the fellows to go and they crowd in here + the theatre which is very small. I write to Dick Westerfield yesterday. I finally did get to it. Some of our planes came in yesterday from Tucson but there are a lot yet to come and other equipment.
