last week our [must?] caught up. The fellows are just coming back from the evening soft ball game which are held every nite between different squadrons. I didn't go but took advantage of the lessened crowd in the shower room. we have good hot water as someone is assigned every day to be [fireman?]. I expect in another couple of weeks the fair will have rolled around again with it's dirt and [confusion?]. Wonder how fairs will go over this year so many [illegible] have cancelled I've noticed. [Illegible] and I sleep night beside a young fellow whose father has a string of harness horses. He takes the "Horseman" and it has race [notices?] of [illegible at Elkader Independence, Central City etc. [Illegible] where Bobby B & Len McKinney had never bet didn't do much. It's dark - Love Johnny
