pretty grizzly.  Just did a washing I keep it [done?] every couple of days and it doesnt take long.  Just got your letter written Saturday 22 on [Mandes?] stationary, Anne had quite a stay.  You will see lots of old friends that always come to the fair say hello to Mr. + Mrs. Clarence Holmes for me I know they never miss.  Im sorry [Stiffs?] melons [blighted?] [illegible] get such nice cantalope and here haven't had watermelon but we often have [muskmelon?].  When we work nights we get a midnight brunch.  Sandwhiches, pickles, coffee + sometimes fruit.  I need the coffee to keep me awake all night, I never drink it except at night it isnt very good + they use condensed milk in it which I hate.  I signed the payroll this afternoon so I soon should get paid for the month of August.  Time surely flies doesn't it the snow will be flying before so long.  I am glad Uncle Raymonds are taking a short trip they all work so hard the relaxation will be good for them.  Wish you folks could go too those hills are really pretty.  I could go thru there every year and never tire of them just like the ride between [W.U.?] + [illegible].  Love Johnny
