Alexander Punj May 16, 1942 Dear Dad & Mother: I am very sorry you didn't get your Mother's Day greeting until the day after, I guess they were very rushed as I sent it about 9:30 in the morning. Your letters are surely interesting. I really get a kick out of Mrs. Thorson & the Kass's (whadid I tellya). Well this army is an uncertain place we are now back on 10 day phases so I'll get out of here around the fourth of July unless they make some further changes. We have to wear our class A or best uniforms to school now for some reason or other. I like them lots better but it's going to mean an extra cleaning bill. However when we get back to the hangar again we go back to coveralls. I finish this phase (electrical) next Tuesday then comes carburetion, then [coveralls] & Engine testing, Single engine inspection, & multi engine inspection. Bob Hope, Jerry Collona, Vera Vague, and Francis Langford put on a show in the hangar the other night, but were delayed by bad flying conditions so long I gave up in disgust and came home. Those who stayed said they were very funny. They let us out of school a little after eight and I waited until almost ten. They got here about 11. Tomorrow I'm going to have a nice day. I go to the Young's for dinner again & for a ride in the afternoon.
