June 12, 42 Dear Dad and Mother I finished another phases of school last night, made 100 in the final test and got 90 for the course average. I was pretty well satisfied. It was quite a lot of fun starting those big engines and hunting for engine troubles which the instructors simulated in them. It was good practical experience. I only hope I get along as well with the practical work as I have so far in my training. That leaves just two phases to go, 20 school days. The end seems close now. There are many rumors as to where we will go for our aircraft factory training. We may even go to Henry Fords new bomber plant at Willow Run. I'd kind of like to there I believe. We sign the pay roll this morning. I will be glad when I receive my first $50 pay and from all appearances that will July 1st. It will come mighty handy and I think it is no more extravagant than many things the govt. does. I got a letter from Mrs. Lynch, Austin & a Church Card from Mrs. Ruth Rogers this week.
