to chow on the way home it was very good, had Turkey and all the trimmings. This is the best place I've been in the army, every thing considered. Yesterday I worked from 12:30PM until about 10PM on the line helping to service planes. Also helped put a set of brakes in a B-24 one of those huge bombers which Henry Ford is going to build at the rate of 1 an hour. I've still as much faith in Henry as ever he has developed a V12 engine now which has outdone the Allison & Rolls Merlin engines which were supposed to be tops. On the test blocks his engine showed no signs of wear when the others were shot. I don't feel like I know much about these places but there are lots of us in the same boat. I hope to have a pass this evening so I can go to town, haven't had one yet so it must be about my turn. Most of the fellows who have don it have said there wasn't much to do there. I'd like to see for myself tho. A few have done down into old Mexico from here it is only about sixty miles from here, but from what I have seen of Mexican border towns I have no desire to go. I've lost weight since I left Sheppard Field am down to 245. I'm going to continue going without potatoes, beans, white bread etc. I believe maybe I'll
