We are right on the edge of the salt flats can dig down a couple of feet and the hole fills up with salt water. Mowing lawns & pulling weeds are two things I won't have to worry about having to do. Came thru some nice farming country, irrigated, yesterday & the day before, wheat fields & alfalfa they really looked nice. It is cool here this morning and I slept under a blanket last night. As long as it cools off night I can stand the warm day okay. Bing Crosby & Bob Hope are to be here this evening and I am certainly going to try and see them as I really like Bing. I don't know where they are going to appear as I haven't seen any large buildings perhaps they have a large platform around someplace. They didn't need to make a camp & runways for the planes to land on as the ground is so level and flat around here and no vegetation to [illegible] to be [illegible] out. Well, I'm going to church at 9:30 so I will quit as its nearly that time & I must change clothes before I go. Don't have anything clear but there are lots of us in the same boat. Love, Johnny I'll be here for a month or so as near as I can find out.
