1865 New Hartford Grundy Sep Tues. 19 At Pecks all night Cut sugar cane for Henry [quit?] work good session. Elmer girls rode home with me Aunt Clara started for Ill. a.m. Wed. 20 Went to Baptist S School picknick at C Falls. started from school house 10 A.m. got home 8 P.M. Thu 21 Painted buggy shaft & took some blocks to J. Smith, drew Hannah's school money 80. Doll worked for H Peck [3/4?] day grinding cane Team Fri 22 Drew 3 lds hay on C. Ensign's J. Folsom & Wm Dunning at Dinner went to Pecks. he had broke his mill. I cut cane P.M., with Ed. Arthur & [illegible]
