New Heartford Jan 1866 Wed. Jan 10 Rainy last night the ground is covered with solid sleet ice. Ed Shaw finished w. tongue & hung partition door A.M. he charged 2.50 I cleaned out house for (Druy??) to live & he signed lease I bo't 1 lb rope 35 cts Thu 11 Rainy this A.M. & icy evening to (illegible) to town & (illegible) I went to town saw Harmon Olmsted Sat Doctors to see him about selling stove Fri 12 the Beaver is rising all the time Eugene & I cleaned out stables. Mrs L. Hammond and Ann here visiting I painted stair door &c this evening. Ann & Hiram Livingston here
