My Dearest Bess: I have just returned to the rooms from the hospital and so will tell you of my existence since I last wrote to you. I expect we will be pretty busy in a short time so I have been doing considerable sight seeing. Went yesterday morning to the Invalides where Napoleons tomb is and where they keep all sorts of relics of the war. Many cannon from the "Boche" which they say with an indescribable air of disgust. Air planes which have been shot down are on exhibition and all sorts of war material. On the walls are the paintings telling of 'French History'. After that we went to church in the Madeline which was built in 1760 and which has played a considerable part in the history of the Revolution. There is an arch here on which are mounted warhorses facing Berlin which shows how much the French like the Germans. The shops are wonderful I went down the Champs Elyais and the stores are varied and wonderful window displays. They have no fixed price but haggle like a horse trader.
