My Dearest Bess Well we are all very earnestly watching the political game and while I am anxious to see this thing through I would rather stay here until the Germans have been punished for their crimes. It is characteristic of them to yell when they are getting hurt. I only hope the allies will pay no more attention to them than they did to Belgium. These people here have suffered much and they ought to see that the Germans suffer much more so that they will not lightly go into another like it for awhile. It is quite cold here and as we have no fire the rooms are any thing but pleasant. I am cold as I sit here and write but I want you to get some of these letters and so the more I write the more chance of your receiving them. I know I look forward to hearing from you all the time and hope you do from me
