If I ever get back to the U.S. I'm going to live with my head under that spring until I float away. There is no decent water around here. And our drinking water is chlorinated so that anyone who has ever tasted real water would hate it. Of course this place is in course of construction and when it is finished it will be much better. I don't believe that I asked you about my possessions but I hope my precious jewelry has reached you safely. I haven't had any mail since coming but there will be some soon I know and then it will come regularly. If we ever get our money I'll send you some to put away and some to get me these things. Be sure and find out about the Christmas packages and get them off in time. Can you send me a real fruit cake, the kind that will keep for months if you send it in a tin box. I'd also like some cookies, heavy woolen gloves and stockings. I hate to ask for these things but the boys like sweets and its so hard to get. They also like milk chocolate bars, sweet. I must close now - much love to you, my dear ones. Take good care of yourselves. I follow you daily in my thoughts and know how beautiful things are. This is a great grape section. Again best love - Devotedly, Louise Liers Louise M. Liers A.N.C. U. S. Army Base Hospital #14 Amer. Ex. Force A.P.O. 780
