night but I was so busy watching troops march out that I didn't pay much attention to it. We reached Paris about 11 p.m. and our ambulance was lost so we spent several hours riding around the dark streets looking for the Hotel Regina where we stayed for 24 hours. That is just across that street from the Louvre which was closed and much sandbagged as were many of the other beautiful edifaces in Paris. We spent the day seeing all we could, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Places des Invalides and many other places which I cannot name just now. If I were given my choice of 24 hours more in any city, I should choose Paris, but it is something to have had even 24 hours there. Of course we were impressed every where by the sad sad faces of the French, in repose they are all sad and seem to be very, very
