All along our way we passed troop trains going or coming also munitions, cannon, etc, etc - traffic becoming more congested the nearer we got to the front. We traveled with rations which means that we were given several sacks of bread and boxes of tinned salmon, beans and jam, one can opener to a can and no utensils so, as the whole trip took several days, we ate with almost anything before we arrived here. We felt the lack of water keenly as it is impossible to get good water when traveling and we had no utensils so had only our small cups of coffee whenever we were fortunate enough to stop near a canteen. We reached our destination in the evening and were very glad indeed to see our own doctors and hospital. The corps boys had made our beds but we had supper and attended an out of doors concert before we were ready to occupy them. The first few weeks we were here
