Just at present we are again in the throes of a muddy spell - anyone who has never been in France can't understand what that means - We have day's of glorious weather, a bit snappy now but not too cold, then we have rain, and so there no walks and many people walking. We are soon mixed up in mud deeper and stickier than anything you have ever seen. We wear rubber-boots and don't mind very much - for just when we think we can't stand it another minute out comes the sun. Then the men get out their shovels and clean out the wards and we begin all over again - which reminds me that you never have mentioned that rain coat of mine. Hope you use it.
