he would miss something. When we got back to Paris we went to see that big war picture and took him with us. This time we had more time to study it and it seemed more realistic than ever. The next day, the chief nurse of B.H. 57 took us through the Bois de Boulogne in the colonels auto. That is much like our larger Chicago parks only more so, as there are 75,000 acres in the whole place. We also drove to a lovely park in St. Cloud and then around Paris until noon, when I met Mary Conover for lunch. She was very pessimistic about conditions over here but I hope she was misinformed. I rejoined Miss Root and Mrs. V. and we did a little more sight seeing. Sat. our last day, Mrs. V and I waent to the Cathedral of Notre Dame and to the Louvre. Many of the paintings have now been returned to their places so we were able to see them. They are the finest in the world. We saw Mona Lisa which you may remember was stolen by an Italian in 1911. It is now under glass and well guarded. I guess that will be my last trip to Paris and I'm mighty glad we could go up again. We cam back Sat night and found that La Boule was empty and we
