Oct. 7, 1942 Pueblo, Calo. Dear Dad and Mom: Its a beautiful day here, very cold nights but it warms up [more?] during the day. Today its very clear and I can see Pikes Peak [clearly?] even tho it is 50 or 60 miles away. I got a letter from you (mailed 5th) and one from Bob today he says it will soon be getting quite cold here. They fired up the furnace yesterday and how it smelled [illegible] [it?] burning off the [illegible] the air was just [blue?]. Our meeting yesterday was in regard to furloughs. This is what the Captain said "This is the policy of the base to restrict all
