Oct. 10, 1942 Pueblo, Colorado Dear Dad and Mom: Well I had a good day in town yesterday it is a nice town and the people are very friendly toward soldiers. Had a couple of good meals and saw a show and football game. Had a letter from you and note from the [Dibbles?] yesterday, he said they had sent me a box which was most kind of them however I haven't received it as yet. Have to go work this noon and work for twelve hours straight as we have a hundred hour inspection due on one of the planes. This is quite a thorough check and requires a good deal of time and careful checking. Slept late this morning my 24 hour pass doesn't run out until noon today so I made the most of it and didn't get up to drill this morning. Many of the fellows stay in town but I cant see the extra money for hotel rooms. We are entitled to one 24 hour pass a week now under this new set up which makes it rather nice. That break away from camp does a fellow a lot of good another fellow and I walked out thru the city park last evening the flowers are still very nice, [cannas?], petunias, strawflowers (I think snap dragon.) they [illegible] had a nice garden which has
