Dec. 9, 1942 Tucson, Arizona Dear Dad & Mom: Have worked pretty steady the last couple of days & havent had time to write. I'd almost rather work than hang around the barracks and loaf. I was told Chas. Kaeppels sqaudron had moved out, but instead it had split and only part left this field consequently I got to see him today. He is the first fellow from near home Ive seen so we had rather a good visit. While talking to him I happened to look across the aisle and recognized a fellow I knew down at Sheppard Field in the replacement center Charley & I walked to the P.X for a cold drink and in a truck I saw a fellow who graduated from Shep. Field in my class and who lived in my barracks down there. So you see it was a
