Dec. 12, 1942. Tucson, Ariz. Dear Dad & Mom: Today has been a bad day, last night one of the crews (not ours thank heavens) bumped two planes together and damaged the wing tips not badly but enough to necessitate new wing tips to be put on both planes. Consequently weve all been catching the devil from the Colonel captains, Lieutenants, etc. The fellow in charge of the crew was a Corporal but they "busted" him. that shows how easy a fellow can lose his rating. I am sorry for him. he's a good man, hard worker and known more about the ship than most every one out on the line. More, I'm sure than the Colonel who broke him. They have forgotten how hard he's worked and times when he worked thirty six
