Dec. 13, 1942 Tucson, Ariz Dear Dad & Mom: I was certainly pleased to get your letter telling me you had received my picture and that it was good. I can scarcely believe it as we arent usually that lucky. The photographer didnt have much to work on but if he did well Im glad. Hope your laryngytis gets better quick. You must have been having tough weather so cold and with snow. Ive had quite a vacation from snow havent seen much of the stuff since last February. I am working on a different ship now. one which was transferred to us by a different squadron. We are to get a new one tomorrow hope Im lucky enough to get on that one but dont figure on it. couldn't get this done last night. Dec. 14
