cordial. Our chow has improved since we moved we are back in our own mess hall again and have our own mess sargeant & officer in charge and they try and feed us good. We have trays and silverware and the mess hall is pleasant. Still arent very well organized. fellows are still moving into different barracks, supplies arent unpacked and its a mess in general. Everyone is in a hurry to get settled. I have a good place a lower bunk in the corner and a handy place for my foot locker. Just stopped and went to chow. find I am still ass't air crew chief on my old ship. The senior C.C is one of my very good buddies. you have heard me speak of Brad Jackson the fellow from near Creston Iowa. He had been a flight chief and is a master sergeant so you see he took a chop too. I mad Technical Sergeant today so I guess every dark cloud has a silver lining. It gives me an eighteen dollar a month pay boost. Gives me $114 + $57 flying pay $117 for a dumb [chuck?] isnt so bad I dont think. Of course they could stop the flying pay anytime, I think it will carry on a while tho. Im listening to Bing Crosby tonight and find it hard to write. I havent had any mail for a week but expect Ill get some soon. Im going to stop for tonight. Love Johnny
