April 17, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Got your box of stationary this afternoon, with the gum, candy and dog tag holder in it thanks a lot. Also got your letter, one from Brad and one from Ruby she is living with her husband in Ogden and asked me if I couldnt come down It isnt so far & Id like to see them but I doubt if I could. Brad wrote me a very nice letter he talks like a much married man very serious and sober not at all like we used to write each other, silly stuff and a lot of jokes Got back in the [cullar?] again today we have another ship and had an inspection and a generator change and a few other defects to correct. It is a newer ship than S. Nelly with less hours and I believe it is a pretty good one. Just got out of a depot and has a new paint job so it should be good. So spring hasnt come yet I surely hope it doesnt hurt the crops that are in and the new seeding etc. It will be kind of hard on little pigs too for the fellows that are early.
