Had another letter from [L.L.?] Dibble and he says he'll see me in a week or so. Right now he is waiting in Boise for his gas ration card to be mailed to him. Is there a new one coming out soon? Under a new set up we are supposed to be allowed 7 days furlough every four months. If this works out I should be able to get home again around the first of June and when is a prettier time in Iowa. I sure hope this is the case and if it is Ill sure be there. Train connections will be pretty good from here. We are on the main line of the U.P which runs a crack train. Thats a long way off but not much more than a month either and that time passes quite rapidly. The weather here is grand warmer than it was in California even but of course things arent so far along. The snow is leaving the hills close to camp fast but it will be on the mountains in the distance for a long time. Had a good snack last night a fellow in the next bunk to mine lives in Fond Du Lac Wis. and his wife sent him a box of cheese & some crackers, had sardines and cookies too. For a wonder I slept good too. It was smoked [seneral narities?]. Love Johnny
