April 19, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Tonight it is beastly, the wind is blowing and it is starting to sprinkle. however Im going into town as I havent been in yet and tonight I am free. Probably wont get this letter finished tonight. Morning: The town is quite nice but doesnt seem to have too much to offer in the line of amusement. It is a clean town and seems to be quite busy but I guess most towns near an army camp have pretty good business. Our camp is small tho and we dont overrun the town like we did in Sheppard Field. Got you a little something last night couldnt find everything I really wanted but it may prove a little bit interesting, most stores seem to be very short of merchandise. Anyhow I send my very best wishes for your birthday and Easter. Got awfully cold last night and everyone is really bundled up this morning and moving around pretty fast trying to keep warm. We were supposed to pull an inspection this morning but kind of postponed it until it gets warmer. Still had a little time to run so we do this and not go by our scheduled
