Saving...
anxious to get home and I am not the least anxious as I have the best home to go to. I talked with the [adjutant]? [illegible] today and he said that no one would probably be sent home before spring. I would rather go to [Illegible] and work than lay around here with nothing to do. If we go there we will leave here for Rome about the 10 of Jan. and go up by way of Trieste to [Servia]? They say the winters there are very cold but I am used to that so I do not believe it will hurt me any. I wonder if you are wise to go to El Paso. You know the town is about the worst on the map and they may have more or less trouble. Of course if you go south I would rather you go to your own folks. You can help them in any way you see fit so as not to put any burden on them but think that would be much preferable to going to El Paso
