events like visits of kings etc. I found out that Laverne was killed somewhere around Beaumont in the Argonne but nothing further. We have pretty good meals here. For supper we had fried oysters, French fried potatoes, green peas [bred &?] butter peach sauce and coffee. What do you think of that for a feed. I was over to no 5 today and got [another?] blanket as I have been rather cold nights. I do not know why I havent had any letters for a long time but expect some soon any way. I wrote to the folks the other day. Well I must close with love to you & Helen. Yours always Walter
