My Dearest Bess; I suppose you will be rather surprised to hear from me at this place but I surely have been on the move since I wrote you Sunday at Naples. I arose at 4.30 and just did catch the train to Rome. Arrived there at 12 oclock had some hot coca at the "Y" and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up and getting things straight ened up for this trip. We left Rome at 7-45 last night and came up through Bologne arriving at Venice at about 12 oclock. We only stayed there about 10 minutes or long enough to see the gondolas being paddled around the canals and then we came on through [Undine?], [Goritz?] and to Trieste about 7 oclock this
