Could buy a first rate place, 80 acres of prarie and from 20 to 40 acres of timber, and so on in proportion; I was offerd 80 acres of prarie and 40 of timber, first rate land and good timber for 11 dollars per acre and an other place 40 of prarie, and 5 of timber for five hundred dollars Betty and I was at Greens about 2 weeks ago they have a pretty good crop of corn for the season I think they are doing as well as they could expect to for their Chance, some of their neighbors says they appear to be cast down at times but they dont know what in the world makes them so for they are geting along as well as any boddy Could for they have the best crop in the neighborhood. I saw Green and Rebecca yesterday at the big Dunkard meeting, they were all well, Mary went home with them. Rebecca sais you all want to know whether she is satisfied or not, but she is not a going to write whether she is or not, but she believes as she would be if she had a home; I dont know what is the reason we cant get a letter from Sally and Abby we have never received one from them yett, only a short one that was sent in one to Green from Abby and Malinda, tell them to write one and send it to Stock Creek post office may be it will come safe for your letters always come safe and in due time. The post Master at Estilville shurely has forgot where Iowa is, must think it is in some of the East India Islands, and has to go the Road Bell Bird had to go, to get to Washington, through France, the Children are going to school, we have six months free school in the year, have nothing to pay; I would love to know how the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Methodist south gets along, who is your preacher and presiding Elder as the Conference will be over before you probably may write. Betty says tell you her and Sally has wove120 yds of cloth this summer. They get 10 cts per yard when they go from home and twenty cents per yard at home she has bought her a loom and has just finished 30 yards of Janes for a neighbor Abby says tell aunt Rachel she would be glad to see her and all the rest of you our best love to all of you and all enquiring friends when it goes well with you pray for us my sheet is full wite soon Wm H Johnson and family to Isaac W Wolfe and family
