in all we traveled about 450 miles and 225 of them in the State Kansas and we did not find any land that we could get that had enough of timber on it to make one fire of wood and so we did not take us any whome Stead for we was not able to buy timber and there is not as much timber in the North East part of Kansas as you have got on your place where you live and it is not half as good as your timber, and there is no tight fences in the State and you cant raise hogs here on the out side of the fence and you must feed as much in summer as winter for your hogs must be kept in a pen or not keep any and it is bad do not to have any hogs and you can hardly set enough of nails to make or to build a hog pen but the land is good enough and plenty of it for it is nearly all wild or but little of it settled as yet
