well organized department and I think they do the fellows a lot of good. They makes loans to fellows who get furloughs when broke, or if their folks need help at home they will advance money which can be paid back later in installments, etc. The notary didn't charge me any thing he is hired by the Red Cross and was a nice fellow, had quite a chat with him about farms etc. Think we will get some more planes soon don't know whether they will be new ones or old ones but know which I hope but don't expect they will be. Had quite an interesting thing here this morning a Jap. zero fighter plane which was captured in the Aleutian Island. It has been painted over like our Navy ships and is flown around to different fields for training in aircraft identification. It is very light in construction, cheaply built of their material, has no armor plate to protect the pilots as ours have, but does have a good engine and due to its light weight is very maneuverable. The pilot put on an exhibition of what it would do, but while its good we have better and they are developing and perfecting new [arms?] which are still better. Well the guy is turning out the lights in the day room so I'll have to quit. [John?]
