Jan 6, 1943 Tucson, Ariz Dear Dad & Mom: Im writing this while Im on "Charge of Quarters so there will no doubt be lots of interupptions. ive run since eight this morning but my day isnt half spent as Im on till eight tomorrow morning. Right at the moment I'm issuing passes so you know Im lots of competition. This was a good day for me to catch it as we mark a 24 hour shift anyway and it just happens we are manning our equipment on the line to a different location. that is always a job which is disagreeable. It looks as tho we will be here for quite while at least much longer than we first expected. They are giving out quite a few furloughs here (were about as far away for everyone as we can get) so say a prayer, keep your fingers .......
